Barnesville Hospital Benefits From Tiu Family's Commitment to Medical Practice

The expression, "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree" can be implied to the case of Christopher Tiu, M.D. & Jeremy Tiu, M.D. Recently expanding their Ear, Nose & Throat practice to the Barnesville Medical Center, both Dr. Chris and Dr. Jeremy decided to follow in their father's footsteps and practice the same specialty of medicine - Ear, Nose and Throat, Head & Neck Surgery.

The story of these two brothers and their career in medicine begins with their well-respected father, Wilfredo Tiu, M.D. A native of the Philippines, Dr. W. Tiu has been an Ear, Nose and Throat doctor in the Wheeling area for over 40 years.

Dr. Wilfredo Tiu completed his residency at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh. While at Mercy Hospital, Dr. W. Tiu met his wife, Martha, a pediatric nurse at the same Hospital. Following his five year residency, Dr. W. Tiu was recruited to the Wheeling Clinic, where for a few years; he was the only ENT physician in town. He remained at the Wheeling Clinic complex until last September when the practice was moved to Wheeling Medical Park due to much needed space. Dr. W. Tiu and his wife raised five children (James, Patrick, Maria, Christopher & Jeremy) in Wheeling, West Virginia and now have 11 grandchildren.

Born and raised in Wheeling, Dr. Christopher Tiu graduated from Wheeling Central Catholic High School, Wheeling Jesuit College with a degree in biology and the West Virginia University School of Medicine. He then finished his residency from the University of Connecticut Otolaryngology Program. Dr. Christopher returned to Wheeling 5 years ago after completion of his residency and is a Board Certified physician by the American Board of Otolaryngology. Dr. Christopher now lives in Wheeling with his wife Dana, a pharmacist & Dr. Christopher's office manager, and their 3 children, Madelyn, Andrew, and Kathryn. Dr. Christopher loves Mountaineer football, the Wheeling Nailers and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Dr. Jeremy Tiu was also born and raised in Wheeling. He graduated from Wheeling Central Catholic High School, The University of Dayton with a degree in biology, and the West Virginia University School of Medicine. He completed his residency from the West Virginia University Otolaryngology Program. Dr. Jeremy returned to Wheeling 1 year ago following completion of his residency. He is recently Board Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology. Dr. Jeremy also lives in Wheeling with his wife Melissa, a registered nurse, occupational therapist & Dr. Jeremy's office manager, and their son, Luke. Dr. Jeremy loves the Mountaineers, the Wheeling Nailers and all Pittsburgh sports.
