WVU Medicine - Barnesville Hospital
The Medical Record Outpatient Coder is responsible for the coding of all Emergency Room and Outpatient visit records to ensure proper billing and third party reimbursement.
Requirements: This position will be responsible for coding ER and other ancillary accounts. Must have a working knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding schemes and guidelines. Working knowledge of the 3M Encoder application is preferred. Working knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy. Knowledge of LCD’s, NCD’s, OCE and NCCI edits highly desirable. Familiarity with HCPC’s coding, Medicare, Medicaid and other 3rd party billing practices a plus. COC or RHIT certification (or eligible) preferred.
